Jonathan Rubin’s Legislative Accomplishments
School Choice
Jonathan believes every child deserves access to a high-quality education. He advocated for school choice and worked alongside educators, parents, and lawmakers to help pass Florida's universal school choice legislation, which was signed into law in 2023, expanding educational opportunities for families across the state.
Protecting Public Health & Supporting First Responders
Jonathan led efforts to ban AFFF firefighting foam containing harmful PFAS "forever chemicals," which have been linked to increased cancer risks and water contamination. His work focused on protecting firefighters, first responders, military personnel, and Florida's drinking water from unnecessary exposure. These protections were signed into law in 2026, making Florida a national leader in addressing PFAS contamination. Similar legislation is being studied on the national level.
Conserving Florida's Natural Lands
Jonathan has worked to strengthen protections for Florida's conservation lands and has been involved in efforts to protect Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The conservation legislation he helped advocate for was signed into law in 2026, and he continues to partner with state parks, conservation organizations, and local communities to preserve Florida's natural resources for future generations.
Strengthening Our Coastlines
With more than 20 miles of coastline in our district, Jonathan is committed to protecting our beaches, waterways, and coastal communities. He supported legislation signed into law in 2026 that invests in coral reef restoration, mangrove conservation, and other natural infrastructure to reduce storm damage, improve water quality, and strengthen Florida's coastal resilience.
Supporting Small Business & Agriculture
As the former owner of Fresh Florida Farms, a vertical farming business in Palm Beach County that supplied fresh produce to supermarkets, distributors, and food banks, Jonathan understands the challenges facing entrepreneurs and farmers. He will work to reduce burdens on small businesses, strengthen Florida agriculture, and create an environment where local businesses can grow and succeed.
